Dear Friends of Edwene,
With profound gratitude for the life, laughter, love, and extraordinary teachings of our beloved Rev. Edwene Gaines, we invite you to join us on Zoom in celebrating a life that blessed so many.
At the request of Edwene’s family, her Celebration of Life will be held at Unity Baton Rouge, the spiritual community she called home.

Our little sanctuary cannot possibly hold all the people whose lives Edwene touched. Because of our limited seating, in-person attendance will be reserved for Edwene’s family and her local spiritual community, the members of Unity Baton Rouge.

Because the celebration of Edwene’s life is much bigger than our sanctuary, we joyfully invite her friends, students, fellow ministers, Unity communities, and all whose lives have been blessed by her teachings to join us live on Zoom. Together, across the miles, we will laugh, remember, give thanks, share our stories, and celebrate our beloved Queen Edwene—this remarkable woman who taught so many of us not only how to give, but how to receive.

Unity Baton Rouge has also received a number of requests asking how one might make a love offering to Edwene’s home church in her honor. In the spirit of the divine prosperity principles Edwene taught—and lived—we receive such gifts with profound gratitude. Were we to do otherwise, we can just hear her reminding us to work on our ability to receive!

In keeping with those teachings, all gifts received in Edwene’s honor will first be tithed upon, of course, with the remainder dedicated to the creation and care of Edwene’s Prospering Peace Garden at Unity Baton Rouge—a living expression of the seeds of prosperity, peace, and spiritual truth she planted in so many lives.
